All of these fashions are made out of trash. The creativity in this fashion show is amazing, so many things are imagined in new ways. The company that puts on this fashion show is
Haute Trash. They continue to amaze me every year. The goal is performance art with the intent to make us think about recycling and reusing items. My understanding was the organization started when its founder, Susan Lamela, was repairing a high end garment and said, "I could do better with trash". Kristi Byrd from Portland, Oregon was the designer that worked on this fashion show. Haute Trash used to do a fashion show every year in Hawaii, and now it is fun to see them every year at the Oregon Country Fair.
