Galaxy

Galaxy Dress: Modcloth (sold out)
Saturn Earrings: Country Fair in Eugene
Purse: Modcloth (sold out) but similar
Bracelet: Gift from my husband in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Jade Ring: Vintage (from Grandmother)
Shoes: Modcloth (old) but similar

I love the galaxy prints.  I am so excited that they are commonly available right now.  Fashion is a funny thing, I don't really care that this dress will go out of style in the next couple of years, I love it so much and I will be so excited to have something so fun.  I just got some galaxy ked tennis shoes and now I have seen a couple pairs of jeans.  I already have a couple of dresses with some type of galaxy print and some leggings though.  I don't want to go overboard.

Mixing Patterns

I love the look of black and white stripes with a checked pattern.  I always enjoy wearing white and black together, it mixes so well with other colors.  Today I switched to my pink purse which often times seems too sweet, but works well with the boldness of the black and white patterns.  Today it is a bit overcast, which is a nice break from some of the intense heat we have had lately.  This weekend is the Eugene Celebration which has lots of great music and events.  I always look forward to this festival.

Modern Vintage

Dress:  Store in Austin (old)
Sunnies: Modcloth
Necklace: Cinderella Lucinda
Shoes: sold out but similar here in black

Whenever I wear this necklace, I try and pair it with very simple dresses or shirts.  The lady I bought if from takes old vintage pieces and combines them with other materials, old or new in a modern design.  I always feel it is a bit like wearing a sculpture.  This piece is one of my favorites.  I love the vintage woman on the central charm.  I also wore my gladiator sandals today, they are very fun and surprising comfortable.  They seemed to match my necklace perfectly.  It was another very hot day, over 90 degrees here.  I suppose that is cool for some parts of the country like Texas or Arizona but it is pretty hot for the northwest.  I am savoring the last days of summer though.  I have already started seeing fall clothing and boots in the stores. There are huge summer savings everywhere, including Modcloth, which is having a 70% off sale.  I bought the new Vogue fall fashion issue today and it is huge.  I will have some fun reading that.

Point click and shoot

Dress: Modcloth
Purse: Macys
Shoes: Seychelles (old)
Hair bow: Modcloth (old) similar

Today there was a just a touch of fall in the air.  I also saw some leaves across the street turning color.  It is hard to believe that we only have a month or so left of summer.  I bought the fall fashion issue of vogue today, that is always a sign that fall is not far away and I should savor the last of summer.  Summer in Oregon is so incredibly beautiful, I always miss it so much when it is gone.  When I lived in Hawaii I stopped appreciating the beautiful weather after a few years and took it for granted.  Now that we live in Oregon, I cherish the summer and the early fall and always look forward to it.  I went to the farmers market right after these pictures were taken and it was amazing how wonderful all the produce was.  It is definitely the best time of year to shop at outdoor farmers markets in Eugene. Yesterday afternoon we had a bit of rain and I saw my first rainbow of the summer, and it was a double rainbow.  I always feel they are so special, I rarely get to see them.  In Hawaii, you often see rainbows because the sun is always poking through the clouds and rain and it is a common site, but here they are something I really appreciate seeing.
